2nd Year over :)

Well i haven't updated my blog in a while since i have been grinding away at my Uni work to get all the deadlines in on time.

The good thing is i completed everything in good time before the deadlines! I must be getting better at these last minute sprints to the finish. I have also finally come up with my final year idea instead of my original idea which would be far too large for 1 person to achieve in a year or less. The new idea is one environment one character and hopefully a believable performance to show off the animation principles within the work. So from now until the next term i want to create everything needed to be animating as soon as i return to uni which is a task in itself but should be possible :)

I will add my progress in here to keep track of where i am at, also i plan on attending a few online workshops to hopefully boost my skillset within character animation. So yea most of my time off is going to be watching Keith Lango videos reading the many books i have bought and hopefully learning more about animation and creating some body mechanics pieces for my reel. Im hoping all this is enough to gear me up for industry once i have graduated next year :)

Anyway here is some of the work i have created this year some of the music was last minute.... :)

Until Next time Roger Roger.

  1. I like your composite... it's hard to see what's not in the original footage. Well done.

Your Syfy animations are really good. How did you do the teleportation effects ?

The kitchen is very interesting. It's realistic but not too much so the cartoony "blender" character suits it. The end of your animation is a bit weird... I don't understand why the blender does not eat the banana throws it away and "runs" in our direction... especially since most of this distance is taken by the sink. it makes a huge constrast with the nice jumps of the beginning. What a shame !

  2. Hi dude, the teleport effect was a combination of light gradients and an image sequence i created in after effects.

With the blender, the rig i created was not great and i needed an ending which your right is not as good as the start jumps but i wanted to get it all finished so i can now concentrate on just animation with rigs that work.

I think i may improve the ending in the future or just use the jumping part of it for my reel :)
